Cynthia's Story

Hi, I'm Cynthia, and I am probably one of the most enthusiastic people you will ever meet! I would like to share my story with you today.

I was looking for purpose.

I grew up with only my mom because my dad passed away when I was about 9 years old. When I was a teenager, I remember comparing myself with others. I didn't feel special or beautiful enough. I didn't feel as good as I thought they were. I didn't find a lot of purpose or meaning in my life at that time.

But that changed when I was about 17 years old. My older sister started learning more about Jesus Christ. Through her searching and learning, I was introduced to Jesus. Every time I learned another great thing about him, I thought, "oh, that's the kind of life I want for myself." Let me share with you why I decided to make Jesus the center of my life.

Jesus died for me.

About 2,000 years ago, Jesus, the Son of God, was born. He lived a sinless, perfect life and then was executed on a cross. This is the punishment we deserved for our sin, but Jesus paid that price for us. “God demonstrates His own love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.” Because Jesus took our punishment, the gap that sin causes between us and God is closed. When we follow Jesus, we are seen as perfect in God’s eyes. We are completely forgiven.

Jesus died for my sins to pay for all my wrong-doings, and they are not a few - they are a lot. Any wrong doings I will ever do - he already paid for that.

I have a whole new life now.

There's more good news! Jesus rose from the dead after three days! Death is no longer final. Jesus offers us the gift of eternal life – of living forever with Him in heaven if we accept Him as our Lord and Savior.

It has been amazing to see all the changes that happened to my life after I decided to follow Jesus. Even when times are hard, knowing of Jesus' love and grace brings me enthusiasm for life and encourages me to keep going. This is wonderful because now I know that God loves me. Jesus loves me. And they love you too. God wants what's best for us. We only need to make room for Him in our lives.

So, I want to encourage you to do what I did and give your life to God. Turn away from sin, and just follow Him with all of your heart.

If you're interested in starting a relationship with God, you can begin by praying something like this:

“Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life. I ask you into my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior. I want to follow you.”
