In Romans Ch. 2:17-3:8, Paul explains how even God’s chosen people, the Jews, are not free from sin and judgment. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you’ve done, you need salvation through Jesus Christ.
In Romans Ch.3:9-20, Paul concludes that all of us are sinful and cannot be called righteous by our actions. The only thing we can do is admit our sins and call on Jesus to save us. Faith in Jesus Christ is the only way we can be forgiven of our sins and considered righteous before God.
In Romans Ch.3:21-26, Paul reveals God’s solution to the human problem of sin. Jesus’ death on the cross cancels our sin. All we have to do is admit that we need Him, and ask Him to save us.
In Romans Ch.3:27-31, Paul explains how Jesus’ death on the cross made it possible for us to be “righteous” before God. We don’t have to try to be righteous by following rules, doing good deeds, or performing rituals. We only need to have faith in Jesus Christ.
In Romans Ch.4:1-15, Paul talks about Abraham’s faith in God, and how God called Abraham righteous because of his faith, not his works. You can be called righteous by God through faith too, just like Abraham.
In Romans Ch.4:16-25, Paul describes Abraham’s decision to believe God to do the impossible: bring him the son that He promised. We can always believe in God’s promises, even when we don’t see how they can come true.
In Romans Ch. 5:1-2, Paul shows how our lives are immediately blessed when we are declared righteous by God. Learn about the blessings of peace, favor, and hope that come from believing in Jesus Christ.
