"After this experience was really the first time that I was thankful for being unique. [God is] so proud that I am the way that I am and I look the way that I look and there is no one else out there like me." Christine was rejected because of the way she looked. While this was a painful experience, it also helped her realize that God created her the way she is for a reason. God made us all different, and He placed a unique calling on each of our lives.
In the Bible, God spoke powerful words to a young man named Jeremiah: "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart..." (Jeremiah 1:5) God went on to tell Jeremiah that he would be a great prophet. And just as God formed Jeremiah in the womb, He formed each of us: the way we look, our unique talents and abilities, our strength and weaknesses.
God created each of us to fulfill a special purpose in His Kingdom. I used to hate feeling "different" from my friends or classmates. All I wanted to do was blend in and be like everyone else. But now I know that God didn't call me to blend in. He called me to shine like a star while I walk the path that He planned out for me.
