Who Is God?

God is the Creator of the Universe. He created everything from the stars to the Earth to each and every person alive today. He knows and loves everyone that has ever existed, and His desire is for all of us to have a relationship with Him.

God loves You!

This is important: God loves you very much. The Bible says, “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.”

There is only one problem.

Humans do bad things.

All of us have done, said or thought things that are wrong. This is called sin, and our sins have separated us from God. The Bible says “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” God is perfect and completely good. This means that the bad things we do create a gap between ourselves and God forever. The Bible says “the wages of sin is death.”

There is really good news though.

God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins.

About 2,000 years ago, Jesus was born. Jesus is the Son of God. He lived a sinless, perfect life and then was executed on a cross. This is the punishment we deserved for our sin, but Jesus paid that price for us. “God demonstrates His own love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.” Because Jesus took our punishment, the gap between us and God is closed. When we follow Jesus, we are seen as perfect in God’s eyes. We are completely forgiven.

There is more good news though. Jesus rose from the dead after three days! Death is no longer final. Jesus offers us the gift of eternal life – of living forever with Him in heaven if we accept Him as our Lord and Savior.

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except by Me.”

God reaches out in love to you and wants you to be His child. “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so, we are.” This love, forgiveness, and hope is waiting for you. You can choose to ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sins and come into your life as your Lord and Savior.

If you want to accept Christ as your Savior and turn away from your sins, you can ask Him to be your Savior and Lord by praying something like this:

“Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life. I ask you into my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior. I want to follow you.”
