God is Humble
Could it be that the most striking characteristic of God is humility?
God is humble, pouring himself out on behalf of humanity, revealing himself to any who asks it.
When one thinks of God it is easy to think of a glorious divine being wearing a snow-white robe sitting high and lofty on a majestic celestial puff. But the God we are talking about is not an impersonal god who hurls lightning bolts to earth and laughs when we’re in pain.
God want to be in relationship with Us
The God we are talking about is humble. He has sacrificed his power to rub elbows with us. He has walked unassumingly in our midst, believing we belong in relationship with him.
Whatever way you have poured yourself out for another—however you have served another—is a way God has poured himself out for you. He does not reside behind elite, unapproachable governmental edifices. In his modesty, God walks with you. He wants you to know him fully. He wants to reveal everything about himself to you. God longs to live beside you, with you, and in you.
Meditate on this scripture, Philippians 2:5-8
In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus.
Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!
Pray this week:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you that you are a Holy, Powerful, and Mighty God but, You still want to have a personal relationship with me, a sinner saved by Your Grace and Your sacrifice on the cross, Amen
Make a choice to not compare yourself to others, instead think on this scripture:
“But they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.”
— 2 Corinthians 10:12
