When Life Falls Apart

We can't see the whole picture, so let's not write off God. When life seems to fall apart, remember that God is more than capable of picking up the pieces and creating something beautiful.

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound...to grant to those who mourn in Zion — to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.

Isaiah 61:1-3

I am so glad you are reading this; it is not by accident. God loves you. He knows the pain and feeling of loss in your heart. God is the One who bathes us in peace and love. He heals hearts and lives.

Yesterday’s hurts can be healed

Grief and loss can hurt so much. Your feelings of being alone are understandable. It’s hard to be around a lot of people and still feel isolated. There is a comforting place, though, in the arms of Jesus Christ. The compassionate God of the universe loves us so much He sent His Son Jesus Christ to pay the sin price for us so we can be with Him in heaven someday. Jesus loves us so much that He was willing to do that for us. He is the only sinless man who ever lived, but He took on the sins of the whole world and shed His blood so we can be free and forgiven. He sees all that you have gone through and He wants to bring you peace. The Bible is the Holy writing of God and has many passages that tell us how to find peace in our pain. That peace can be found today - not just in eternity.  He cares about what happens in your life now.

Tomorrow holds hope for those who trust in Him

Matthew 5:4 says those who are sad now are happy, because God will comfort them. Revelations 21:4 – He will wipe away every tear from their eyes and there will be no more death, sadness, crying or pain because all the old ways are gone. 1 Peter 5:7 – Give all your worries to him, because he cares about you. Isaiah 42:16 – He will guide the blind along paths they have not known. He will make the darkness become light for them and the rough ground smooth.  He does not forsake us.

Are you willing to trust God with your hurts: those you’ve endured and those you’ve caused? He gave up so much to have a relationship with you.

Pray this week:

Heavenly Father, I don’t see any way out of this dark pit, but You do. Please guide me. Please turn the darkness before me into light. Because Jesus paid for my sins, I am trusting You to save me.
